Today, as I spent another Easter Sunday with my parents, I was deeply moved and felt full of love and respect for the two people who brought me into this world. The more time I spend with them and have time to reflect on the continuing example they set for me, the more I feel responsible to be as good as they are. There isn't anything in particular that stood out today but there is a feeling in their home that makes me feel safe and loved.
In a world that has many struggling families it is no mystery to me why our family stays, for the most part, pulled together. The foundational strength in our family comes from our kind patriarch, the grand Pooh-bah , my dad and from our sweet matriarch, the keeper of the chocolate and all things yummy, my mom.
With their love in my life, I will ever be blessed.
