There are No Convenience Stores in Heaven

It had been a long day...nothing terribly arduous, but still I felt the need for a candy bar. A snickers with almonds was what I was really craving. Nothing wrong with just one little candy bar, I thought. I hadn't eaten anything fattening or unhealthy all day!
I jumped into my car, found the closest convenience store and made my way to the candy aisle. I looked over at a woman at the refrigerator. She had a cold beer in her hand. I snatched my candy bar and went to stand in the line to pay. In front of me there were two other women. One bought a scratch-off lottery ticket while the other one bought a pack of cigarettes. I left quickly, anxious to get a first bite of the chocolate that I craved.
When I got out to my car I quickly unwrapped by snickers bar and took a huge bite. I probably looked pretty disgusting. I looked over to my left and there was lottery girl frantically scratching off her card. I looked to my right and there was the other girl puffing in the  smoke of her recently lit cigarette. It was then I thought about each of us; each driven by our vices and stopping to pay money to satisfy our cravings. I felt momentarily embarrassed to be part of such a line-up of women.

I paused and pondered.

I looked down at the candy bar.

and then I took another big bite,

put the car in reverse and

pulled away from the store of conveniences.
