There is mad-ness in the air. Do you feel it too?
Intense. Agonizing. Fervent. Impassioned. Mad.
In our family the mad-ness is a magical and memorable time. Knowing that it will arrive like clock-work every March makes our hearts pound and our heads spin. If you're not careful, the mad-ness can take over; you won't be able to sleep, be able to blink or remember to eat.
This ritual mad-ness is centered on magnificent college basketball. Our NCAA tournament brackets are filled out; hopefully in pencil or erasable pen. There is no rhyme or reason in how I fill out my bracket. My predictions could be made just as easy with the Magic Eight Ball but there are those in the family who would claim to channel basketball greats from the other world in their bracket predictions. Despite the procedure used, we are mad-ly protective and adamant about or brackets being right. Sometimes our brackets hang in the house along a very visible wall.
Who will be the winner of all the M.A.D.N.E.S.S?!
Grandma Jo, Jenna and Cassie say Kentucky.... Absurd!
Pompa, Carly and Rachel say Kansas....Preposterous!
Shane, Jon and I say Duke.....Marvelously and Meticulously Mad!
