There are many reasons I love taking photographs. The end result invigorates me and I get excited about my next chance to shoot even when I don't know when that will be. One of the bonuses to photography for me is the awareness I have of the world around me. Especially as I drive down the road I see textures in brick walls, vines draped over old fences, the brilliance of a gold field at sunset or clouds that seem to cushion ever so softly the top of my head.I feel wonder at all that is beautiful in people. I notice the smile in their eyes more than the smile that is on their faces or I notice the highlights in their hair or the squareness of their jawline. The whole process of photography has given me marvelous new eyes and in the process I have more appreciation in the beauty of a single day.
