We have a miniature pinscher named Menah (mee-nah). She is quite the character and keeps us all laughing. She loves to rush out on to the back deck in a furry of growling and barking when one of us yells,
"Squirrel"!
She seems to believe she is "queen of all" wherever she is and with whomever is present. However this tough demeanor is completely squashed when she finds a willing soul to share their finger with her so she can suck on it to fall asleep. People who see this can't believe it.
She also scavenges through anything that is available in the hopes of finding a morsel of food. Jon has had his computer bag rifled through and all it's contents spread through out the house. Left behind are the trail of those remains... an eaten cherry chapstick and wintergreen gum wrappers.
Yesterday, Carly and I were out for several hours. As soon as we entered the house we knew something was awry as our dog Layci came down the stairs quickly (she is not allowed upstairs) AND we always kennel the dogs when we are out. There was a misunderstanding between who had put the dogs into their kennels. While we both thought the dogs were locked away the evidence of a huge bag of Hershey Kisses wrappers was proof that they were out roaming freely for hours!! Not knowing which dog had eaten the candy we put both dogs in their separate kennels and waited. Sooner or later the proof would be known.
It was a couple of hours later that Cassie went to release the dogs for their afternoon meal that the proof was discovered. Cassie had no idea what had happened earlier with the hershey kisses, so in a panic she called to me to come look at Menah's kennel.
In complete disgust, Cassie bounded up the stairs and in a puzzled and concerned way said in a low voice,
" You know what's weird Mom?" she asked
"It almost smells like chocolate!"
I can see why she was worried. That would ruin chocolate for life!
