Last night a something weird happened just as Jon was falling asleep. It is my hope that he was under the influence of his sleeping aid, currently a benedryl but sometimes an advil pm. He said with the most ernest expression that he thought Neil Diamond would be a good concert to go to and then even suggested that Barry Manilow would be great to go to. I sat up to try to focus in on my husband who went to many AC/DC hard rock concerts in his early years. Was he incoherent? dilussional? ill?
While I wasn't into the hard rock genre in my teenage years I would certainly NEVER be excited about Neil or Barry today....ever.
I have been afraid to ask him if he remembers his statements. I choose to answer my own question instead... that he has no idea what he was saying and that he wouldn't ever want to go to those concerts. If the answer were to the contrary it might mean my husband is getting old.

HA! A member of our Stake Presidency told this story Sunday that he and his wife took their oldest daughter to see Barry last week as her "going off to college gift" because the girls love him. The dad was tolerant. But as he sat there, it hit him that his little girl was going away, and he got sentimental and teary. Until he realized he was a grown man, crying at a Barry Manilow concert. He said he straightened up real quick before anyone saw him! HAHA!
