When I recently went to the emergency room for severe back pain I was given advice upon dismissal as to how to get up and out of bed.
" move your entire body together," the nurse said
"like your body is a log."
I have followed her excellent advice and see the wisdom in her counsel. As I get out of bed now I say aloud,
"roll like a log"
I not only have mastered the log roll out of bed but have also discovered that there are characteristics I posess that are log-like and have been here with me for a long time!
For instance,
When I never heard my babies crying I was sleeping like a log.
When I had all my children in school there were days I sat like a bump on a log.
When I have too much noise going on around me I definatly log out.
As I slowly lose my memory my mind reacts more like a hollow log.
And last as I share the same birthday with honest Abe I guess I might be considered a Lincoln log.

I wish I was there to celebrate you Lincoln Log Birthday. Do you have big plans?
Wow! This had me laughing out loud! Where do you get off being so dang funny!? I have been thinking for years how many different kinds of "pads" there are, now I am going to be thinking "log" comments/phrases etc. Geez!
