What Does Three Thousand Dollars Look Like?

The day we talked with our relocation counselor she covered the exact details of the package Verizon was offering for our move. When she got to the part about our temporary housing she casually stated that we had a 3000.00 per month housing limit.

In my head I thought,
" Three thousand dollars monthly will be a very comfortable way to live while we were away from our home!"

In the process of finding temporary housing, Jon discovered that we had to stay "In Network" for housing options. We have lived in this apartment now for over a month and I must say that I have been consistently confused as to how this place could actually cost 3000.00 a month. I am tempted to ask the other tenants around us what their monthly rent is.

It is small...we lived on the second floor and we mostly live around single adults or young marrieds with no children. When I was a single adult or a young married I lived in housing similar to this place. Shane sleeps on the couch each night, while Cassie has a room with a double bed and Jon and I have a room with  a double bed as well.

The phone never rings...and there are 3 televisions.

Thank goodness we stay busy with wonderful friends and have places to go that feel like a home. That first day my imagination of what three thousand dollars looked like in temporary housing was much different than what we have. I am grateful for our place but it is just different from what I had imagined.
